Chicken Burgers – DiY
By madan

I finally decided to attempt a burger – after months of procrastinations and checking recipes I put together the mix myself. The final out come was something I was so proud of – couldnt help smiling – a LOT!
So here goes
Ingredients
For the Patty
- 500 gms chicken kheema
- 1 finely chopped onion
- 1 egg (whites)
- 1-2 tbsp – HP sauce
- 1 Tbsp Soya Sauce
- 1-2 Tsp Tomato sauce
- 3 Tbsp Corn flour
- Bread crumbs
- Salt – based on requirement / personal preference.
- pepper – amount based on spice levels required - preferably crushed pepper pods.
- oil to fry
For the Burger:
- Burger Buns
- Cheese Slices
- Sliced Tomatoes
- Lettuce Leaves
- Coleslaw
- Salt, pepper and sauces to taste
Method
Mix all the ingredients together. Add 1/2 the portions of Cornflour and Breadcrumbs and mix. Add more based on the consistency of the mixture – It should be firm but not dry.
Once you have the mixture, in place, keep it aside for a few hours. The flavour and the sauces combine and form a great mix, check the consistency again and add a little more bread crumbs to the mixture to firm up.
Make the patties based on personal preference (Small/ medium / large)
Take a heavy bottom pan, drizzle some oil, once hot – place the patties on the pan, ideally – the patties should be flipped over just once, to ensure a good cooking on each side. (on my heavy pan it took about 5 mins on a medium to high flame to cook perfectly and give it a nice browning on the side)
Parallely – take the burger buns – cut them in 1/2 horizontally and place the insides onto a pan with some butter to toast it
as soon as you take the buns off- place a slice of cheese on the upper half
Stack up the lettuce, coleslaw and tomatoes on the lower half
Place the burger patty ontop of the lower half
place the cheesed burger top
viola! you have a scrumptious burger
PS Incase you dont have Coleslaw – here is a simple recepie
1. Take cabbage,
2. Run it through a grater (like the one for carrot but with larger pores)
3. add salt and pepper
4. Add Mayonnaise (incase you dont have mayonnaise Please look at the mayo recipe on this blog)
5. Mix and then Chill it
